Keené Nordin-Shore: Artistic Director/Instructor
Keené has 24 years of dance experience and has been teaching for over 10 years. She is well versed in all areas of dance including classical ballet, pointe, jazz and lyrical, pom and musical theatre. Keené is a master technician of the Cecchetti Method and works to impart strong technique and correct terminology to her students. She prides herself on her ability to convey corrections while remaining positive and putting an encouraging spin on each critique she gives.
As a young dancer, Keené studied under Ben Stevenson and performed with Texas Ballet Theatre, including in their annual production of The Nutcracker. In her teenage years, Keené studied at Dance Gallery under the direction of Jennifer Lumpkins where she won many awards within the competition circuit. In 2007, Keené served as captain of the award winning Honeycomb Drill Team for Brewer High School.
She has many experiences in the sports and entertainment field of dance, including the University of North Texas’ pom squad and the Rally Cats Promotional Dancers for the Fort Worth Cats Baseball Club. During the years of 2009 - 2012, Keene` competed in the Miss Texas Scholarship Organization, a preliminary to the Miss America Organization. She was very successful during her years of pageantry, placing 6th overall and earning several substantial scholarships.
Keené serves as an adjudicator for BravO! National Talent Competition, judging dance competitions across the U.S. Keené has also judged for multiple children’s pageants and talent shows within the DFW area.
She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and holds a Bachelors of Science in University Studies. Keené finds the most joy in passing on her passion of dance to her students and watching them grow as dancers and individuals.
Patricia Cannon: Competitive Tap, Ballet, Tap, Jazz
Patricia grew up in Phoenix,AZ, where she won many awards as a competitive dancer. She has had the opportunity to learn from many well-known choreographers, including Mia Michaels. After moving to Texas, Patricia worked as an entertainer for Six Flags Over Texas and competed in the Miss Texas Scholarship Organization. Patricia encourages her students to step out of the comfort zones, believing that is where learning and improving truly happens.
Gabby Azios: Hip Hop, Ballet, Tap, Jazz
Gabby began training in studios at a young age and became involved in drill team her sophomore year of high school. After high school, Gabby spent two years as a Kilgore College Rangerette where she had the honor of serving as a Lieutenant, in addition to being a part of Industry Dance Company. Gabby then went on to study dance for a semester at Chapman University in Orange, CA. This spring, she will be continuing her collegiate education at Texas Christian University with the privilege of performing as a TCU Showgirl. Gabby is excited to join the TTP staff and is looking forward to a great year!
Anna Vazquez: Ballet, Tap
Anna Vazquez began dancing at the age of three in Victoria, Texas. She then moved to San Antonio and began teaching and training with the Ballet Conservatory of South Texas. Here she worked as a teacher and teacher assistant while she danced senior company. While in the senior company, Anna trained under Sarah Pautz, Dede Barfeild and Jayson Pescasio. Anna has performed variations in Paquita, Sleeping Beauty, Copellia, and Cinderella. She has studied at Dance Theatre of Harlem, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, and Texas Ballet Theatre summer intensive. She attended these summer intensives on full scholarships. Anna will be joining Texas Ballet Theatre as a professional division dancer for the upcoming 2018/2019 year. Anna is looking forward to enriching the lives of the dancers at TTP.
Shelia Nordin: (Office Manager)
Shelia is a long-time dance mom and spent many years watching her daughter’s dance classes, competitions and recitals. Together, she and Keene` opened TTP in 2013. Mrs. Shelia is a retired pre-school teacher from Harvest United Methodist Early Learning Center where she taught for seven years.
